Interesting Questions People Have Asked Along The Way

How is your product any different than Shea Butter?

Great Question. did you know that Shea butter comes from a tree that is similiar to the rubber tree? What does this mean you ask? Well it means that Shea Butter contains a natural Latex - a very common allergen. If you are allergic to latex, you need no longer wonder why Shea butter makes you itch after awhile.

Shea, whether white or Yellow, is a very heavy product while

Our Avocado based Skin Purees are naturally smooth and melt to the gentle TOUCH - without the greasy, pore clogging texture of common Shea butter. Oh, and we over here at Tangible think it smells funny too.

Can I use this in my hair?

We get this one alot. Though our product line is not desinged strictly for hair care, from the feedback we get, you should only use TANGIBLE on your hair and sclap if you want to keep it suprisingly soft and itch free.

Are your products Vegan?

Our staff live a vegan lifestlye so you betcha our products are vegan as well.  No animals were ecploited to make anything that we use. and yes, that includes Lanolin & honey.            Thank you for caring.

What are the 6 C's of fragrance?

I'm glad you asked. The 6 C's are our little nickname for what is commonly referred to as "fragrance" in the cosmetic world.

                       "6 C's" are

Crazy Carcinogenic Chemicals that Could Cause Cancer.

Now before you go and try to say that 5x fast check this out:

  • Did you know that the law does not require cosmetic companies to reveal what chemicals they use to create the Synthetic "Fragrance" that smell so yummy? That's right - its called a TRADE SECRET.
  • Sadly, many companies that claim to be "all natural" and "Paraben/Phthalates, free" use chemicals that are listed FRAGRANCE. However, if they dont create the FRAGRANCE themselves, how can they attest to that? Maybe this is why some ingredients say Essential Oils/ OR fragrance.

  • Frankly, we find unity with the idea that you shouldn't put anything ON your body, that you don't want IN your body.

and if that means that we aren't able to sell you items that smell Pina colada or Coco mango or apple Pie - that is quite okay. We rather sleep well at night.

    .

I know that your base is Avocado, but what do you cut your oils and butters with?

Absotootley nothing. We don't make margarine here at Tangible. What's that? You know - mixing the product you really want with a bunch of cheaper butters and oils.  I understand your question though. Many companies plaster a popular base on the label and mix it several substances (the bait and switch).

    for example -

yada yada yada, bla bla bla, shea butter, AVOCADO bits and scraps, bla bla bla, OLIVE OIL woo woo woo. FRAGRANCE.

We at Tangible would never do this to you.

Are your oils good for massage?

Not only is Tangible good for massage, but it was

made to be good for massage!                                         Many of our patrons use TANGIBLE Body Oils and Purees to massage themselves, partners and/or clients.

    Massage is very important -

They promote stress reduction, invigoration, and increased blood flow to the muscles. The focus is on relaxation, increasing flexibility, detoxification and the release of acute and chronic tension. The end result should be an improvement of mind-body harmony. Thanks to Tangible, the days of the Baby Oil massages are over!

Why is Avocado Oil so much better than other oils?

Avocado Oil is slightly thicker than most carrier oils and has a natural hydrating ability and is deeply absorbed by the squamous layer of the skin. Because of its chemical properties and its ability to retain water, avocado oil acts as an emollient.

Without clogging the pores, Avocado Oil penetrates deeply so that nutrients can enter the dermis of the skin under the epidermis.

Pure Avocado oil is full of vitamins such as vitamin A, B1, B2, D, and E.  It also contains amino acids, sterols, pantothenic acid, lecithin and protein More on all of that a bit later.
It is great for wrinkles and is an antioxidant, it is also an antibacterial. It is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids it contains at least 75 and these soften aging, dry or rough skin.

    Omega-3?  Not just in fish.

We prefer to keep the fishies out of the kitchen  and laboratory. Luckily,  It's not just fish that contain large amounts of Omega-3s -- Avocado oil is rich in omega-3 as well. Omega-3 has been shown to be a highly effective protector from UV solar radiation, thus decreasing chances for sunburn and skin cancer risk. Speaking of UV,  The Vitamin E found in Avocado Oil decreases damaging things of solar radiation, reduces UV induced wound and decreases skin glow after sun exposure.

    Does that answer your question?

Your oils smell good. Good enough to eat. Are they edible?

They do smell good don't they? We get this question all the time.  One thing I want you to remember is that we use 100% pure uncut essential oils. Our Cacao (which some call chocolate) comes from the Cacao Nut and our Orange, comes from...well Orange extract. This being the case, while i wouldn't eat them (becasue that's just plain weird), you can taste them, while licking your lips; and they will taste sweet.
